Hey, Watch Out

I have always been a big watch fan and feel naked when I'm not wearing one.  I typically stick to my routine, switching back and forth between my gold and silver watches according to outfits/moods. Lately, however, I'm loving some new, different options. I know they say a girl can never have enough shoes, but does that saying fit for watches as well?  I could definitely see myself sporting all of the watches below - one for each day of the week?  Might be a little much.

I feel like everyone has the same tortoise Michael Kors watch, so I love that this one is different.  Also LOVE the face of the watch and it's slightly masculine look

Pretty Sure I Deserve A Grammy, Too

I started out my Golden Globes Best Dressed post with - Did anyone watch the Golden Globes last night?  And I'll do the same for the Grammy's - did anyone watch last night?  Here's what I saw: the red carpet E! pre-show, B and Jay's opening performance (KILLED IT!), and Taylor Swift's performance (agreed with everyone regarding the cray seizure moves she was doing on stage - no Taylor, not cute).  The fashion at the Grammy's, in my opinion, is always more fun and more daring than other award shows.  Per usual, I had my likes and dislikes.  Here's my list in case you missed it.

I put G first because I think Alex Perry might be my new fav dress designer.  I first fell in love with his work when Sandra Bullock beautifully wore two of his dresses (see below) - then G Rancic whips out this beauty and I'm officially in love

I am OBSESSED with this couple - she's hilar and his songs make me cry hysterically and want to be in love, the perfect combo.  Her column dress is perfection on her and looks so sharp in that suit

Who poses like that and gets away with it?? Seriously - imagine yourself out to brunch and you want to take a pic with your girlfriends - BAM Beyonce pose! This dress was made for her..it's one of the dresses you don't want to take off at the end of the night because it's so pretty

To be honest, I'm not dying over this dress but DANG does Miranda Lambert look amazing or what?! She's been public about recently losing weight and girlfriend surly did.  Oh and love the vintage Hollywood look on her!

2014 Look Ahead

It's still only January, but on this #FlashbackFriday I can't help but start to think about the year ahead.  I had so much fun this past summer, so I can't wait for another year filled with family, fun, and friends.  Here are just a few things I am looking forward to...

1. 2014 WMZQ Fest - I was lucky enough to have the mega ticket last year, which was the best experience. The weather's always beautiful, the music's great, and  good times shared with friends are even better.  I'm not as interested in the mega ticket this year, but I definitely want to see Dierks Bentley and Toby Keith with Kip Moore.

2. Washington Nationals Baseball Games - baseball games in the summer are one of my favorite activities. PR and I went to a quite a few last year and I'm hoping to do the same again.  Thinking about going to one?  Definitely hit up the bullpen before (located before the front entrance) - grab a drink, listen to bands play, and don't forget about the corn hole set up.

3. Gold Cup - Am I too old for Gold Cup this year?  I'm thinking not!  Gold Cup is the Northern Virginia version of the Kentucky Derby - fun hats and dresses, mint juleps, and chick-fil-a catering.  Oh and horses race too...

4. Weddings - I am in two weddings this summer, and I could not be more excited! Bride #1 has been a family friend since before I was even born. Our families used to take vacations together every year - great memories! Bride #2 has been my best friend since pre-school. I've watched her and her fiance grow as a couple since high school. I love them all so much and can't wait to be a part of their special days.

5. New Louis Vuitton Artistic Director - I absolutely love Marc Jacobs, so Nicolas Ghesquière has some big shoes to fill.  He will unveil his highly anticipated collection for LV this March at the autumn/winter shows.

Hit the Nail on the Head

My birthday's right around the corner - who's excited??? I have to admit I am definitely one of those people who likes to plan things for their birthday - dinner, drinks, getting a pedicure, etc. I am a HUGE fan of birthday's in general, and I always love a good celebration. My college roommates and I used to "secretly" decorate our apartment for each others birthdays so that when the person would walk into the living room in the morning it would be decked out with balloons, streamers, posters, and more!

Before I went home for Christmas I had the biggest urge to have fake nails (why I have absolutely no idea).  So, before making the drastic decision to get acrylics I decided to buy glue on nails. Yup, that's right - I went to CVS, picked up $8 nails, and glued them on myself while watch Bravo (Lisa Vanderpump would die if she saw me gluing them on).  They actually looked pretty good if I do say so myself, and I ended up really liking them.  I've always loved polished nails, and when I was younger (meaning before becoming a career woman) I swore that whenever I got a real job I would always have nice nails. I mean you have to admit, don't you look at a woman differently when she has nice, pretty nails?  I do and in a positive way.

So, as part of my bday activities I'm planning to get a mani and pedi - what better way to welcome a new age then with a foot massage and buffed nails (and a bottle of champs that I plan to bring with me to the salon)?! I need some new nail inspiration before getting them done, so I decided to look for options.  I'm kind of really loving the taupe color, but who knows what I'll go with next week!  If you're an Aquarius like me, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTH!!

Is it Spring Yet?!

So if you've been watching the news lately and/or live up north you already know about snow storm Janus.  She moved herself on in quite quickly - Monday it was nice and sunny, a cool 58 degrees.  Come Tuesday we get hit with about 4-6 inches of snow, and today it's in the negatives with the wind chill.  Are you dreaming about Spring and Summer, too??  I can't help but think of sunnier times, pastel dresses, neon nails, bronzed skin shimmering in the sun.  And speaking of pastel dresses, New York fashion week is right around the corner.  I can not wait to see brightly colored prints and floral ensembles.  I've seen a few pieces I'm loving so far, so thought I would share them with you - just in case you need something to brighten up your day.

Vacanza

I've been feeling a little tired and sick this week, so naturally I can't stop thinking about a warm tropical vacation.  I LOVE to travel and feel so lucky to have traveled to so many great places with my family.  There are still so many cities and countries I am dying to visit - my before death bucket list if you will.  So, if you are somewhere cold like I am, then do yourself a favor and start dreaming about the top five places I want to visit next. HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

The minute I heard PR's uncle and aunt have a house in Thailand I immediately created a savings account titled "Money Saved for Trip to Thailand".  Not only do I love Thai food, but the beaches and scenery there are unbelievable

Balls and Baked Goods

Super Bowl is right around the corner, so for me this means it's time to start researching some new, fun, and festive recipes for any potential game day activities.  My company is also hosting a pot luck in the Super Bowl theme, so this is also a great excuse for me to try something new. In the past, I've seen some really cute football themed ideas - brownies in the shape of footballs, guacamole made into a field, etc.  So I've turned to Pinterest to get some inspiration.  Here are some of my favs...

Best Dressed

Did you guys watch the Golden Globes this past weekend?  Don't worry, I didn't either.  BUT I did watch some of the red carpet pre-show and of course looked at endless pics of the best and worst dressed. I have to say, it wasn't that hard for me to put together the list of best dressed considering I wasn't dying over too many dresses this time.  I know you care about my opinion and my opinion clearly matters in the fashion world, so I put together a list of the top 5 best dressed according to me.

She is so stunningly beautiful! This dress on her is absolutely flawless- and to think she's only 23!!!!!!
